PRINCE's ISLANDS EXCURSION WITH LOCAL MARKET TOUR

Meet with Selin and depart to take a jet ferry to the largest of the Princes’ Islands (Principio -Büyükada). Büyükada is a beautiful summer resort with ancient style wooden houses and old summer residences. There are no  museums , no cars even just horses and carriages to get around ( the alternative is riding a donkey), grand houses and mansions wreathed with wisteria, begonvilla, pine forests, cliffs.
On the island you will stroll through the pier to visit a local market by the sea (ON THURSDAYS ONLY)
After your tour in the market you will stop have a succulent lunch by the sea. After lunch a horse -drawn carriage will drive you throughout the pine woods taking approx 1 hour. You will taste a delicious ice cream before your cruise back to town.
ISTANBUL STREET FOOD TOUR
Our Istanbul Street Food Tour is designed to introduce you to Istanbul's diverse street food. This tour will give you a chance to visit truly authentic street food stalls and a local market, allowing you a glimpse into the daily lives of the people of Istanbul..

The Istanbul Street Food tour begins by stopping to taste the delicious simit (bread rings with sesame seeds), poğaca (cheese- or potato-filled pastry), catal (a cracker-like snack), with tea at Ortaköy a sea side village by the Bosphorus. We will then stop by the colorful food stalls in Ortaköy.

We then move to the Fish and Flower Market where there is more snacking to be done. While the spice market is a relic of old imperial Istanbul, Balik Pazari, the fish-and-fresh-produce market, is a great slice of Beyoglu, a once-cosmopolitan nineteenth-century quarter of faded embassies, mod nightclubs, boutiques and antiques shops. As we enter the market, we will be greeted by the odor of mussels fried in cauldrons of sizzling oil. Everything from the Oriental bazaar of legend is here: vendors hawking kebabs and rings of sesame bread, and blocks of halvah.

We will then emerge from the market on to Istiklâl Caddesi, Beyoglu's pedestrian thoroughfare traversed by an antiquated red tram. The street is a hodgepodge of once-glamorous, turn-of-the-century facades and Art Deco fragments wedged between slapdash modernist boxes. Chic cafes, döner dives and French patisseries lost in a time warp coexist with traditional pudding shops and Turkish confectioners.

Alas, we won’t linger much : More snacks await at the Saray Muhallebicisi, a cross between a diner and an Oriental pastry palace, where white-jacketed waiters dispense chicken soup and Turkish egg dishes 24 hours a day. We will taste Saray's su muhallebi, a creamy, not-too-sweet milk pudding scented with rose water.

We also organize Tailor made Foodfocused trips in Turkey. Don't hesitate to contact us if you want we organize your private food tour. For details please contact us.
