FOODIE WEEKEND IN ISTANBUL

Day 1 – Friday

Welcome to Istanbul.Meet and greet at the airport and settle in to your hotel .

Afternoon visit of the Pera Area currently called Istıklal Street, from Taksim Square  to Galata with stops at specialty shops and be treated to a  Turkish welcome tea  in a famous cafe in the area.

Then stroll through the Fish and Flower Market to get acquainted with fresh local products.
Welcome Dinner with lots of meze (appetizers) where you can try Raki (our version of Ouzo).
Day 2 – Saturday
After breakfast, you will start your full day tour of Istanbul .This tour will take you to the old city of Istanbul.
Byzantine Hippodrome, the former center of sporting and political activities of Constantinople.
The Blue Mosque, a 17th century mosque that dominates the skyline of Istanbul.
St. Sophia, the church of the Divine Wisdom.  The architectural marvel of all time. It was built during Emperor Justinian reign ( AD 537 ) remained the greatest church in Christendom until the conquest of Constantinople.
The Underground Cistern was built by Justinian in the 6th century. It is 70 meters wide and 140 meters long, with a capacity of 80,000 m³ of water. It has 336 beautiful columns that support the cistern, two of which are carved with the head of Medusa on the plinth. 
Spice Market ,famous exotic food market selling spices, dried fruits and many more ingredients.This  Bazaar is often referred to as the “Egyptian Market”.
Lunch at local Turkish Kebab restaurant. After lunch visit the Grand Bazaar.
For dinner we recommend:
Dinner at 1897  owned by true Ottoman food lovers, this restaurant preserves the authenticity of Ottoman Recipes in a cozy space.
Day 3–Sunday
Today you will have a chance to visit a local produce market in the morning .
Next you will board a ferry to cross to the Asian side where famous Ciya Sofrasi is located.
Here we will enjoy a sumptuous meal by  the reknown chef and eventually hear the stories of his signature dishes; After lunch you will have ice cream in Moda by the Bosphorus while watching ferryboats go by between two continents. Then take ferry to the European side and return to hotel.
For dinner we recommend the ABRACADABRA  Restaurant on the Bosphorus for real innovative Turkish cuisine.
