The focus of this 5 hour experience is a study lunch about Turkish cuisine. You will have the chance to experience the typical Turkish style of eating. We’ll explain the menu as we compose a meal in a well known tradesmen restaurant to illustrate the major components of a Turkish meal in general as well as specific dishes particular to the Istanbul repertory and a variety of seasonal dishes. As we savor our lunch, we will provide information on the components of a typical meal, and the incredibly rich array of fresh ingredients that comprise our meal. After lunch we will walk through the Spice Bazaar to learn about the special spices used in the Turkish Cuisine.

Then we will walk over the Galata Bridge to Karaköy, Istanbul’s coolest trendy neighbourhood,Karaköy today is a dynamic neighborhood to say the least. What used to be the main port of the Ottoman Empire and a site for local hardware stores is transforming slowly but surely into a hub of food, culture, and shopping.

We will walk to discover the streets of Karaköy and sit down at a café where traditional desserts are made by connoisseurs or masters sticking to the original formula and using one hundred percent natural ingredients. You will  savor a very fresh authentic Baklava  accompanied by Turkish Tea.
