ZENCEFIL
International, Not 100% Vegetarian
Taksim (0212) 244 40 82
Located behind the Fitas movie theatre in BeyoĿlu near Taksim square Zencefil serves not 100% vegetarian cuisine. Zencefil" means "ginger" in Turkish.
Billed as a vegetarian cafe (in spite of the chicken with leeks on the menu), this spot serves up wholesome fare worthy of its healthy designation. Homemade bread with herb butter accompanies every meal, which might be a big healthy salad, an ample slice of quiche, or Indian stew with exotic spices and vegetables. Menus have been skillfully translated into English, which is useful, because pumpkin pie probably isn't in your basic Turkish dictionary, and it's too good to miss.
Open Monday— Saturday from 10:30am to 11:30 pm with breakfast, lunch and dinner available. Mastercard and Visa are accepted.
