Turkish Cooking at Its Best

  • Cooking classes may be organized for individuals or groups. We work with each client to design the perfect  "Turkish Flavours" experience.
  • Turkish Flavours can create perfect custom designed events that will suit perfectly an incentive program in Istanbul. Each event has a unique flavour!
  • Hands on’ cooking will be practiced in all cooking classes, where participants can understand the ingredients, feel and learn the actual cooking by doing it themselves.
  • Cooking classes will be conducted mainly in English (subject to request and availability courses in other languages can also be arranged)
  • The menu prepared will  be tasted on spot, together by the end of each cooking class
  • Shopping for ingredients at local markets will be the fun part of the culinary adventure during non-cooking hours.

         Clear and understandable recipes of each menu item prepared will be provided to participants.

Our Turkish Wine Appreciation and tasting tours are the most unique and enjoyable way to fully appreciate Turkish wine in a very relaxed atmosphere.
Our Turkish wine tour is designed for people who love wine and want to learn more about Turkish Wines.
Basic information about Turkish grape varietals and introduction to the major wine growing regions of Turkey, and each region’s type of wine. Six different Turkish wines will be tasted. Our classes are held in English.

Recipe Of The Month

Janissary Stew - Kuru Fasulye
Serves 6 to 8 persons
 
2 cups dried kidney beans, soaked in water overnight
1 pound lamb or beef cut in to 1 inch cubes
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 onions, peeled and finely chopped
3 tomatoes peeled, seeded and roughly chopped
1 teaspoons of sugar
A good pinch of red pepper flakes
1 cup water
 
*Soak the beans in cold water overnight
*Drain the beans and then cook them in a  large quantity of water until partially cooked,about 20 minutes.
  Use a spoon to remove and discard any foam that forms during the cooking process.
*Sautée onions in vegetable oil. Add meat and continue to sautée for 10 minutes more. 
  Add tomatoes and stir. Then add water, salt and pepper flakes. Add beans and more water as necessary
*Cover pot and cook over medium heat until meat and beans are tender, almost 40 minutes.
