The Art of Mantı: A Turkish Dumpling Masterclass
A Limited-Edition Experience · Offered Exclusively on Mondays
Across cultures, dumplings symbolize gathering and generosity. In Turkey, that cherished tradition takes the form of mantı — delicate handmade dumplings that represent patience, craftsmanship, and family heritage.
Hosted in an intimate Istanbul home, this masterclass invites you to slow down and experience one of Anatolia’s most treasured culinary rituals.
The Experience
We begin with the fundamentals — preparing and kneading the dough by hand before rolling it paper-thin, just as it has been done for generations. You will learn the precise technique of cutting, filling, and folding each dumpling into its traditional shape — a skill that requires attention, rhythm, and care.
Mantı is traditionally filled with delicately seasoned ground beef, though a refined vegetarian version with cheese and spinach is equally celebrated.
As the dumplings gently cook, we prepare their signature accompaniments: strained garlic yogurt and a warm tomato-butter sauce infused with Turkish spices and dried mint. The result is a beautifully balanced dish — comforting, elegant, and deeply rooted in regional tradition.
We conclude the experience gathered around the table, sharing the mantı you have carefully crafted, accompanied by seasonal sides and Turkish wine.
This is not simply a cooking class.
It is a cultural ritual — shaped by hand and shared in good company.
Folded by hand, perfected with patience, and shared at the table — mantı is the taste of Turkish hospitality at its most personal.
